Two rifles, all parts are the same. Actions are one digit apart. Same reamer, same gunsmith, shot on same day by the same person (me), and from same position. Customer wants to use factory loaded ammo.
Twin #1 shoots 180 Gr Accubonds very well, but will not shoot Federal Trophy Bonded Tip worth a nickel.
Twin #2 will shoot 180 Gr Federal Trophy Bonded Tip very well. It will also shoot 180 Gr Hornady Superformance pretty well. Twin #1 slings them all over the place.
Moral of the story is just because your rifle doesn’t shoot well, try a couple different kinds of ammo and you might be surprised. I had heard about this, but these things are almost identical and this was an excellent example of rifles having their own personalities.
